Believe me, I usually love the all the public service announcements on tv. Especially when they're clever or when they tell you something that you might not have actually known. However, I think that many of the ones about drugs and alcohol aren't really effective, and are pretty much pointless. I feel like the people who already aren't abusing alcohol or doing drugs are the people who actually take notice of PSAs and that people who do drugs are usually already aware of what can happen to them.
I almost feel like some PSAs are a waste...of time, money, and effort. I really hope that I'm wrong, but I just don't feel like people are really taking notice of them the way that they should be.
I do however think that it's important to have PSAs about AIDS awareness and things of that sort. Even though I think that people might not pay attention to the ones about drugs and alcohol, I'm a little bit more optimistic about the others. I think it's important to keep people informed about being safe and getting tested. I just wish that PSAs on drugs and alcohol were more effective.
Somebody please tell me I'm wrong. I feel like I've just been really disillusioned lately with how much I see other people doing to themselves.
