Athletes

It seems that people are becoming more and more obsessed with high school athletics, sometimes even choosing to get rid of some of the schools classes just so the school can continue to fund their athletic events. Not only does this take away from some of the classes that can help you get jobs or classes that you take just because they are fun classes or classes that interest you. It seems that more and more schools are cutting funding classes and increasing their athletics funding. I think that schools should not be able to cut education funding and increase their athletics funding. Athletics should be 2 because they are extracurricular. Curricular activities are much more important because they can determine your career path and what you can do. Athletics may be important to some people who are football or basketball or softball fanatics but they should not be the main focus of a school whose job is to educate its students not get everyone into a sport. Education should be one of our main concerns since even some third world countries have better education than we do today. Third world countries being very poor are very interested in getting an education so that they can earn more money. America on the other hand doesn’t care about education to much anymore because they are already pretty good in the financial department
