The Cards Have Been Dealt

As far as bad luck, I've had to whole nine yards. Abused, raped, Dad issues, you name it. I won't go into detail so don't worry. And I am not telling you this for your sympathy, I just want people out there who have gone through difficult times (that's everyone!) that things will be okay. I know everyone says that, but it's the truth! You just have to make the choices to get you to that state of mind. For the longest time I was frightened of people, I felt no one could be trusted, and yet when someone told me something I would believe them ( not anymore of course, I'm smart enough to generally judge who is telling the truth and who is lieing to me). I was a hermit safe and sound in my own room. Until I realized I was wasting my life and not living to the fullest potentail. You just have to say to yourself, it's okay, it's over. No need to dwell on something you can not change. It is much better to focus on the present and what you are doing to make yourself better as a person. I know it's not easy believe me! It took me years to make true friends and to live as a happy human being. Now, I am happily engaged, and I have the best 3 friends anyone could ask for! I truly do! I know they will always be there for me and I know I will always be there for them! Those nightmares of the past no longer haunt me. I guess what I am trying to say is that it is possible to live a happy life and be a happy person-you just have to take the steps to get yourself there! You can change your stars! -A Knight's Tale
