As far as bad luck, I've had to whole nine yards. Abused, raped, Dad issues, you name it. I won't go into detail so don't worry. And I am not telling you this for your sympathy, I just want people out there who have gone through difficult times (that's everyone!) that things will be okay. I know everyone says that, but it's the truth! You just have to make the choices to get you to that state of mind. For the longest time I was frightened of people, I felt no one could be trusted, and yet when someone told me something I would believe them ( not anymore of course, I'm smart enough to generally judge who is telling the truth and who is lieing to me). I was a hermit safe and sound in my own room. Until I realized I was wasting my life and not living to the fullest potentail. You just have to say to yourself, it's okay, it's over. No need to dwell on something you can not change. It is much better to focus on the present and what you are doing to make yourself better as a person. I know it's not easy believe me! It took me years to make true friends and to live as a happy human being. Now, I am happily engaged, and I have the best 3 friends anyone could ask for! I truly do! I know they will always be there for me and I know I will always be there for them! Those nightmares of the past no longer haunt me. I guess what I am trying to say is that it is possible to live a happy life and be a happy person-you just have to take the steps to get yourself there! You can change your stars! -A Knight's Tale

You said you believe in God? So did you ever question him about why he did this to you? I am glad that you found hope and you were determined to succeed and by the way I love A Knight's Tale....aww but that reminds me....Heath :(
GOd didn't do this to me, man did. God just simply gave everyone the choice to do has he or she pleases. Some just commit horrible crimes and do wrong.
I know-A Knight's Tale rocks! I love it.
I was hoping you would say that. I just wanted you to be a witness for everyone on the site for all those people who think that if something bad happens to you then God does not love you. And therefore they do not believe in God anymore. So many people feel that way, so I just wanted them to see your view. Thanks!
Thank you, that means a lot. I can not stand it when people think that way. I'm glad you asked, and I'm also glad that you feel the same way! I just hope people can understand that, and not be so closed minded.
Out of curiosity, how do you explain things that AREN'T caused by man, such as genetic diseases (including some breast and ovarian cancers, sickle cell anemia, Tay-Sachs, Kleinfelter's Syndrome, Turner's Syndrome, etc)?

I do believe that a lot of these diseases are because of the way people take care of themselves. A lot of these people are obese, and therefore they are the ones that have caused the disease they have.....Things such as cancer, I am not sure where it starts from, I'll have to research more into that, but I do NOT believe that God picks random people and decides that they need cancer.
In 8th grade my social studies teacher said that diseases came from incest in families. Mostly from Alexander the Great's family I believe, but I am not positive. I'll look that up as well.
Incest that started with Adam and Eve's children (if you're following the Bible). My question is, how can God say incest is a sin yet that's how the first population began? Seems contradictory.
If you're responding to me, every one of the diseases I listed is genetic. Breast and Ovarian cancers are the only ones that could possibly be affected by lifestyle.
