interest vs money

Quick question. Which one would you choose? A career that you are interested in and passionate about or a career which you can make lots of money. Lots of people say that they would pick what they are interested in but turn around and choose something else. For example, if you have been dancing for years or love to dance, would you find a college or university that offers dance or would you take other courses like construction because it is needed? If you know that with dancing you make less money than being a construction worker, are you willing or prepared to make less to do what you are passionate about and truly love?
Most students find careers that are quick, prosper able and have the opportunity to make lots of money. Even if they are unhappy. Why is it that when you are young, adults brings your hopes up saying that you can be whatever you can to be. But we all know the truth now- right? So instead of being an astronaut you become an accountant and almost hate it. What is more important now and days? Your hobbies and interest or just a job with money.
