This story came to me through the grapevine, but not far from the roots. This took place in Michigan just last week. Before I get to the shock, lets talk teacher responsibility for just a second. Now, teachers are supposed to be keeping children safe. They are also supposed to be teaching these kids that violence does not benefit. They should also be giving their students small lessons about issues going on around the country (the teachers themselves should be aware of things going around the country). So I want to know how this happened. . . . .
Basically, a female teacher helped one of her students with a science project. They followed the instructions off of the internet, and step by step, slowing built the project. Yep-it was a bomb. There is more to that story, but no one was hurt-truly some irrational thoughts on where to take it (the child wanted to take it out of state).
Again, why? Was the teacher even thinking? Why would you help a student build a bomb? I do not care if it is for a project- bombs should be on the "red list"! This was a disturbing story, and I know that we are in for trouble if even a minimum number of people think like the teacher.
