The Basic Principles Of Christianity

The world as a whole has slipped away from God and most denominations in the Christian Church are slipping to inorder to gain members. That is not right and wholesome for true believers. Most people don't understand Christianity, so they bash it. If you're one of those people please read this and try to understand where I'm coming from. This is what I believe as a Christian.
God created the world in seven days which is awknowledged by Christians as Creation. Take the seven days loosely, meaning seven days to God does not mean seven twenty-four hour days. It's God's view of time and not ours.
God's chosen people were the Isrealites, what we now know as the jewish people. God tested their faith numerous times in the Old Testament. As they started to fall away from God for mortal views, God punished them for their lack of faith. They were enslaved by the Egyptians, persecuted in Russia, and slaughtered during World War II. Israel taken from them by the Muslims and they were driven from the land God promised them as punishment. (Note the Old Testament served to keep the people safe and healthy and instill a sense of morals to be kept by the people.)
The first four books of the New Testament are called the Gospel. Each book tells the story of Jesus' life from different view points. All four books corraborate each other. This is how th story goes...Mary was visited by the angel, Gabriel. Gabriel told Mary not to fear, the Holy Spirit was going to impregnate her, as she was the virgin chosen by God to carry his son. Her finance was not pleased with this news, as they were not yet married when she was found to be with child. An angel appeared to him and told him not to fear the child was from God and he was to name him Jesus. So when Mary gave birth to him in a stable in Bethlehem, Joseph named him Jesus.
Jesus lived a holy life teaching God's word and was helped by his twelve disciples. His disciples did not truly understand who he was. At the last supper he gave them bread to represent his broken body and wine to represent his spilled blood. He knew he had to die in order to save us from our sins.
On the night he was to be taken prisoner, what we know as Maundy Thursday, Jesus prayed in the garden as his disciples stood watch. He prayed and asked God to let him live, he didn't want to die. Jesus was human just like the rest of us, but he was also part of God. He knew he had to die and submitted to God's will and told God his life was in His hands.
After going before the Sanhedrin, Jesus was sentenced to death on the cross by the people who a few days before bowed at his feet. They didn't understand who he was. As he hung on the cross, dying for everyone a storm rolled in. When he died, a great earthquake destroyed the temple and they knew Jesus was who he claimed to be, the Son of God. They laid his body in the tomb and three days later on Easter, Jesus rose again. Jesus conquered death and provided a way for us to enter heaven. To become a true Christian one has to ask God into their heart and admit that they believe that Jesus died for their sins and that through Him we can be forgiven and one day be in heaven.
One day, maybe very soon, God is coming back and all the Christians will descend to heaven for eternity. The remaining people will live through what is known as the tribulation as the current earth is destroyed to make way for the New Jerusalem.

People ask why God has forsaken them and let's evil into our world, but think don't stop to think maybe God hasn't forsaken them they just have rejected him and refuse to ask for help or forgiveness. If you believe and ask sincinerely from the depths of your heart it will be given to you. That is what I believe and I will tell the whole world through and through, because it's the greatest element of my life.
