My First Caucus

I live in a caucus state and this year was the first year I could vote. The caucus was far under projected and all over my state the voting officials had troubles from the high turn out. It was loud and busy and really quite interesting. Our town has a new fire house (and town hall) and I got to see it as the caucus was there. People chanted politcal slogans across at each other. When it was time to vote we all stood in lines and went single file to the people counting the votes who then counted us. Thankfully we didn't need to be recounted. Although it was interesting it struck me as less than effective.
Primaries are a better system for voting. They are faster and cope with large crowd more easily. They are also more like regular voting which I belive would make voters more comfortable wth the process. It would also decrese peer pressure in voting.
I voted for Obama and he won! Go Obama!

Hey, I read your comment on my post, and thought I'd return the favor. It's great to see such a high turnout, especially with young people. I'm only nineteen myself, and took the time to fill out an absentee ballot (since I'm away at school), this is such a big election.
