Music through out time has changed and will continue to change. It is intristing to view the music scene form a different viwepoint. Jazz was very ibnflunetial to more modern music.

1920’s Jazz Influence

If you ask anyone on the street chances is that they’ll say that Jazz is simply the bee’s knees! After the world war, an artistic movement exploded. Starting a new wave of music (Jazz), ligature (poetry) dance, and visual arts. Jazz has roots in African American spiritual songs that have been sung for decades.

The spirituals slowly involved into Jazz. There are two sections or layers of  Jazz the first is often played in the time signature 4/4 meaning four beats per measure. With the foundation of Jazz is that an infinite amount of melodies can fit in to the chord progression of any piece of music. The second layer is based more on the African American spiritual music. Jazz stated along the Mississippi river but has now moved to
Chicago. It’s speculated that Jazz will continue to spread through the country at a rapid pace.
