I have writen a lot of blogs over the course of this contest (somewhere around 120) and I have found that certain topics draw people to read your blogs much more than others. Most of the things I find the most interesting I get very few reads and one of the blogs I thought would get very few reads ended up getting over 18,000 reads. http://progressiveu.org/003307-dinosaurs-are-in-the-bible As far as I have seen, celebrities and the Bible are the things that get peoples the most attention. Actually I would say religious things in general get the most reads, and celebrity gosip, esspecially things about Britney Spears. I would be interested to see what other people think get the most reads.
Blogs that will get you the most reads.

I'm new to the site so I don't really know what gets read, I just know that I would hope that things would be different. Gossip seems like it shouldn't have a place here, this should be a place for intellectual conversations which include all of academia, religion, and issues.

yes it is unfortunate.
I've noticed your right. And I haven't struck gold yet and probably wont because I'm a rambler, so I have low reads.

Thanks for the heads up. Like you, I've posted some blogs that I thought, oh yeah this will be hot, and instead, people would rather read my blog on K-Fed? Oh well, it is refreshing to read a blog that isn't putting others down and actually is trying to give a few pointers!! Thank you-

Guessing what will get the most reads is not quite as straightforward as you might think. It is true that posts about Britney Spears or K-Fed will often get more reads because more people are searching for those topics on Google, there are other factors that increase readership.
In the case of your Bible/dinosaur post, what happened is that a site called Fark.com picked it up and put a link on the front page. If you get links to your articles on popular sites like this, you will often get thousands or 10's of thousands of hits in a couple days. You can try increasing readership yourself by suggesting links to posts that you think are appropriate for certain sites. Other sites that can generate a lot of exposure include BuzzFlash.com, digg.com, democraticunderground.com, and many other popular forums or blogs.
Thank you for the info.
I guarantee you if I write anything with sex in the subject line it will stay in the most popular column all day long. I've seen it happene multiple times today.
