We're officially in the countdown to the Fall 2008 Blogging for Progress Scholarship Competition.
Are you ready?
On October 1, 2008 the Fall 2008 Competition will commence! The rules for participation are, with two minor changes, still the same as in previous competitions. Those changes, of course, are that in order to participate, you must be registered on ProgressiveU by November 15, 2008 and that you no longer have to be a United States resident in order to participate.
This term, we will be rewarding one $1500.00 scholarship and up to five gift certificates for $25.00 for runners up. The contest will run from October 1, 2008 to December 15, 2008 and winners will be announced as soon as we are able to tally the scores and notify those in the top slots!

We encourage each of you to begin preparing for the contest now by familiarizing yourselves with the ProgressiveU format, getting to know your fellow bloggers and building up your readership base. As those who have been here for previous contests can tell you, the earlier you begin getting familiar with the competition and getting that reader base built up, the more attention your blogs will earn during the contest. And that translates, in many ways, into how well you will fare during the competition.

Is there anyway to find out where you stand as far as points in the competition?
Sorry. It's just that your question threw me right back to last semester's competition. And the answer is, No.
There will be a post at the midpoint that lists the top 25 bloggers. That's the only hint you get.

How do we know if we are signed up or not?
When you sign up for an account, you are automatically signed up for the contest. The only way you are NOT signed up is if you clicked a little box that says you don't want to compete. You can also click on "My account" and scroll down a bit until you see "Account Terms," under which you will find the words "Blogging for Progress Scholarship Contest."
