" I think I have something in my eye.. "

"I think I have something in my eye.."

Oh yes it's called a tear.

I was watching t.v. the other day and a man began to cry or at least he had tears in his eyes. Somone pointed out the tears and he said he had something in his eye.
I see this on tv all the time ,although sometimes they use other excuses such as allergires, sinuses, etc.
Well a few nights before that i had been on the phone with this guy i like and we were having an "open" conversation and we began to talk about one of his friends and he was telling me about how close they are, how they are always there for each other, and that he is one of the few people that knows the "real" guy his friend is.
But then he said quicly "Not to sound like a sissy."

How come as a society we make men believe they cant have real sensitive feelings or they are weak??

I reallly don't understand. Yes im into "bad" boys, but ones that are real and have emotions.

So i told him "just because you have feelings that doesn't make you a sissy!"
He said "i know" but i wonder does he really??

I strongly believe we should let EVERYONE know they are allowed to have feelings. it only shows that they are human.. and that no one is perfect.

There are generations upon generations and centuries upon centuries of reinforcement saying that the male gender should be "tough," "brave," etc...

It's not just fathers trying to keep their sons tough. It's everyone in society who sends signals of discomfort in seeing a man cry. Think about it: if you were in public somewhere and saw a man crying, what would you think? What would you feel? What would you think or feel if you saw a small child cry? I bet the two situations would be quite different.

I, too, wish that boys and men could let their sensitive sides show. However, I'm not surprised that most don't. I think our society is slowly becoming more welcoming of varied emotions from men, but there's still a long road ahead of us before they can become accepted as sensitive beings.

thanks for your wonderful comment,..
yes i know society says males should be tough to be masculine. that was my point. i just hate when males that i am close to think they cant be their complete self around me that is what i want and that is why i love them, ya know??

Guys need to quit being so hard. Trees are hard but you see if you break them down their bark is soft. Well kind of. I just say don't cry about every single thing whether you are a woman or a man.

everything u said makes complete since to me.. i totally agree. i dont want them to cry about everything just you know admit when they are hurting.
