Ignorance

When I ride a bus to school I notice the little kids as they play games pretending to be older or siblings or even animals. Some of them still play with Pokemon cards. They laugh and cry a lot, and sometimes they can be loudly annoying. One minute they can be bestfriends, another minute they aren't friends at all. From their simple and ignorant mind's they can create things that to us, now, seem crazy.
I wonder why we change to be so harsh.
This is a poem I wrote while I was reflecting on my childhood;

Innocence is what fills a child's eyes
And mind.
Their worst fears so simple;
Whether it be if they can get that new toy,
Or a monster hides under the bed.
Joy fills a child's heart.
No worries of the future,
No pain from a love alone.
Only that the rain hits the ground,
And their rainboots are too small
To play
Freely outside.
Smiles fall upon a child's face.
How easily they do
Read them a story,
Tickle them pink; the most fun they have ever had.
Imagination fills a child.
The most creative thing we'll ever be.
But the worries of the world fall upon us,
Squeezing miserably out our
Innocence,
Our Joy. We know now not of
Why we smiled so.

Don't worry I won't be bite.Just joking. No really this is a good comment. Really good poem about childhood ignorance. Innocence blinds the childs eyes from the optimistic reality they live in. Back then many of us thought if our parents punished us, thhat was big. But really when the people of the world punish us, they don't put us in a corner to think about what we just did.

And Good point about our parents punishing us. I read it and I was lik e"Yeah that's so true."

I really like your poem and it reminds me of something I once wrote about wishing things could be easier when the hardest decision you had to make was grape or strawberry jelly (who am I kidding that's still a hard decision)...and I think this kind of relates to my Never Never Land blog. I miss the simpler times, yet I don't remember why they were so good.

Thank you so much.
I miss the simpler times also.
I never used to worry this much about the future but I always wanted to be older.

Yeah it's like the biggest paradox ever...we all want so badly to be older and so we act that way and force ourselves to grow up...and then once we hit adulthood we want to be young again...sometimes we act immature or try to dress or look younger...I don't get it

Exactly.
It really confuses me also. : /
