smoking ban

Yes, I am very against smoking, but i do think the recent ban in Chicago is getting a little ridiculous. I'm not sure if it is spreading to many other cities, but it's happening here in Chicago. Pretty soon smoking in restaurants, stadiums, and basically and public place would be illegal. I think it's a great idea to outlaw it in restaurants but having it outlawed in bars is a little ridiculous. People come there for two reasons: to drink and smoke. That's fine, we all know that's what a bar is. A restaurant on the other hand isn't supposed to be a place to smoke, it's a place where people to go and have a good meal. I find it hard to enjoy my dinner when smoke is filling the room. There really is no point in having a smoking and non smoking section. The restaurant is wide open, smoke travels. As it has been said before, having a smoking section in a restaurant is like having a peeing section in a pool.

I'm all for the smoking ban everywhere. I love the Truth ads on tv, and they have a great website also. I think that the less people can smoke, the less people will smoke. For now people will be annoyed and complain, but eventually if enough places ban it, kids won't find it cool. There will hopefully be less peer pressure. I'll enjoy myself when I am out in places that use to premit smoking. And it will be good for our population. Although, I know this is asking a lot, I hope that eventually smoking just goes away, although I doubt it very much. If people could just think before they act. But I know that peer pressure is hard to go against especially at younger ages. If I was exposed to by my friends a few years ago what I am exposed to now, I might even be smoking, but I thank God and my amazing parents who brought me up so well, that I am not smoking. I hope I can only encourage others not to smoke.

WHY? not ban it in all places. haven't you heard that 2nd hand somke KILLS? 2nd HAND SMOKE does not Discriminate on who it hurts: people in Restaurants,Bar, or walking down the street.

Yes, I definitely know the harmful effects of second hand smoke. Much of my family smokes and I've been trying to persuade them to quit for years. I think smoking is disgusting. And like I said i think it should be outlawed in restaurants, but i think outlawing it in bars is going a little too far. I think that is one of the reasons people go to bars, and if you don't like all the smoke, you should know to not go there. It's a known fact that that is what takes place in most if not all bars.
