My Opinion 2008

Personally, I am not going to declare a party when I vote. I am going to vote as an independent voter. I support gay marriage, I support our troops and I think that we should finish what we started in Iraq. I don't think I will ever get the money I have paid into Social Security. I think that schools need more funding. I support gun control. I think it is a serious violation of the Constitution when the government taps people's phones under the "Patriot Act". I fully support any means of catching terrorists. I would personally love to be there to see Bin Laden and every other terrorist involved in 9/11 shot.

I have a lot of friends in different branches of the military. After I graduate college, I'm thinking about joining either the Air Force or the Navy. I hate seeing them pack up and leave. Not knowing if they will come back. It sucks. But I think that we started something and we should finish it. We have a reputation of being the "world police" and it shouldn't be our job. I support gay marriage because I personally don’t care who you marry and I don’t care if you love someone of the same sex. It doesn’t bother me. I’m fine as long as you don’t hit on me. I have a few gay/lesbian/bi friends and I don’t think of them any differently than my straight friends. I don’t support the “Patriot Act” in any way, shape or form. I think it is just a way for the government to get around the Constitution. As for 9/11 and terrorists, I would honestly love to see them all put on an island and then we should bomb the crap out of the island.

As for the Presidential candidates, the only ones I am paying attention to are Hilary Clinton and Barack Obama. I am supporting Clinton. She supports abortion, civil unions for gay and lesbian couples, improving our schools, ending the war in Iraq, and restoring our standing in the world. Yes she is a woman. But I don’t think her sex will have any impact on her ability to rule a country. She has been a senator since 2000. She has the ability to rule the country effectively.
