Will you join this group to help encourage Senator Barack Obama of Illinois to run for President of the United States in 2008? I feel taht he is the best candidate for the job his views of the world and things re exactly what this country needs if we want to maintain the reign as the best country in the world. I feel like with him as our president our freedoms will not be tested and everything would run a lot smoother. He is a man for eveyone, meaning he is for the people . Race, sex, religion, none of those things matter to him he is just out to make the U.S. better and help in the advancement of the country.

But I have yet to see hard proof why his agenda would be better than anyone else's. Perhaps I am just over-wary of charisma in politicians.

Barack Obama has no experience and he's a socialist. He would be a horrible president. His plan for change is really just the plan to have the government run the people. He may look nice and speak about all these radical plans that idealy look great, but the truth is that these idea's would be horrible for us economically. A good example of health care going bad is the problem in Germany.
"It's Better To Burn Out Than To Fade Away" -Neil Young
A good example of health care going bad can be found right here, in these United States.
Compared to other countries, these United States rank alarmingly high among the infant mortality rates, as well as low in life expectancy. 20 years ago, we ranked 11th in the world in life expectancy, now we rank 42nd. 40 countries have lower infant mortality rates than we do.
Only about 55% of the overall population receives appropriate health care when needed, and that percentage doesn't really change much among the income groups (57% of those making over $50k/year, 53% under). An efficient health care delivery system should be providing adequate health care at least 80-90% of the time.
While other nations have adapted to our technological times by switching to electronic medical records, these United States lag behind. Doctors have been known to actually quit their jobs over being told they would have to switch from paper charts to electronic health records.
Contrary to popular belief, these United States do not have the greatest health care in the world. It kind of sucks and, really, making it universal isn't going to fix it. It's still going to suck. The difference will be that everyone will have access to a broken health care system.
I would really like to know what's going to be done about the 45% of the $2.1 Trillion being spent on health care each year that's being wasted on inappropriate and ineffective care.
"What a crazy random happenstance!"
