As a 17 year old living in Maryland I have the privilege to exercise my right to vote here for the Chesapeake primaries. It will be a wonderful experience knowing that my vote could bring forth either the first African American or female president. This is a great feeling to know that my first election that I could vote in may change the history of such a great nation. However, when people go to the polling places in November they will vote for a republican white male. Some people will not vote for a woman due to the fact that to other countries we might seem weak in the eyes of other countries. However, we are the last of the "super nations" and I seriously doubt whether or not other countries will see the country as weak. I feel that both democratic front runners will bring forth change and will make a great influence on other nations outside our own. It is great living with parents of the two differing parties because I get the chance to hear eachothers views on the issues at hand. Which can sometimes lead to arguing at the dinner table but I just keep my head down, listen, and eat my salad. It will be an interesting election to watch.

Vote because of the issues and because of what each candidate brings to the table. Voting for or against someone because of their race or sex is in fact racist and/or sexist. Plenty of other countries have been run by black people and women, no other country is going to think one way or another about it. The simple fact that there is a woman and an African-America are running is really refreshing.
Don't vote for someone because they are a novelty candidate, or because they are in a certain political party. This is what makes America crappy.
You totaly don't get the point of the post. I understand the issues I just felt that it was great to have my first election come down to am african american and a woman.
