Al Qaeda's Leader in Iraq Wounded

Apparently, al Qaeda's leader in Iraq Abu Ayyub al-Masri, has been wounded in a firefight with Iraqi police. Al-Masri's aide, Abu Abdullah al-Majamiai, was killed in the clash. The report hasn't been confirmed by CNN but... WHO CARES?!? It's not like this will really help us. Sure, their leader is wounded and possibly in custody but al Qaeda will just replace him quickly like they did with al-Zarqawi. Apparently, people think if we kill all the terror groups' leaders they'll give up and leave. I personally think this tactic will not work. The terrorist's dedication and fortitude has been proven again and again. They might fall for awhile, but they'll end up bouncing back like they always do. Possibly even stronger than before.

Now I'm not advocating we just give up and pull out of Iraq as soon as possible. We do have a responsibility to the Iraqi government and people to get them back on their feet. It's just that pure, brute force is not a great strategy. I'm not a military strategist so I probably don't know what the hell I'm talking about, but I think if we want Iraq to have a democracy we should act like a democracy and try as hard as possible to sit down and talk with these groups. People will say they don't want to talk, they hate us, they want to kill us, etc. This is true, but if we show them we are willing to put our weapons down and talk, maybe they'll follow suit... maybe.
