Today a 17 year old shot his brother over a video game. We were told that video games can make people act violent. I did not belive this until now. You may disagree with me, but it is true. We need to try to stop the violence and keep people from play so many video game so this does not happen to you, me or some one you know. What are we going to do? I was born in 1990 so i know what playing outside is and we did not have many video games. Thats why i know that video games are not real. THESE PEOPLE SHOULD NOT BE PLAYING VIDEO GAMES FOR MOR THAN 2 HOURS. PLEASE COMMENT HERE ON YOUR VEIW OF VIDEO GAMES!

He shot his brother over a video game. That doesn't mean he became violent because of video games. Believe me, I played all kind of shooting games when I was younger and I'm about the most peaceful person I know.
The point is that he shot his brother over a stuip game which is not good. This means that he was addicted to video games and became violent because of one.
Well, it could be video games, but I think that's an oversimplification.
People who are tweaked out to the point of killing family members often use particular situations or objects as excuses. You can't write a game to create that mindset without another very serious problem doing the heavy lifting. His brother probably stole his hat and his Fruit Loops that day, too. The involvement of a video game was probably pushed by the media because sensationalism improves ratings.
You are correct. The mind is usally stressed out to the point that people who can't not handle the pressure they finaly explode. The reason the media put some effort into the story is because of soem adults who believe that video games are the cause of problems with the youth.
In my opinion that kid was screwed up waayyy before he played the video game.
I have played video games since I was little, I have never been violent, heck I've never even been in a fight. I've played Grand Theft Auto, Motral Kombat (at age 6 til now), Manhunt, and others. So yeah, it doesn't go for the majority of gamers

I was and still am a gammer. I play video games with my brother all the time for copetition and we play fair. I am not saying they did not play fair but it happens that way. The real problem is the media di not give us the full story.
ok well i am a former rs addict and think this comment would be very helpfull to you. (and beleive it or not runescape used to be a respectable game)runescape or you can refer to as rs is a game and is currently being ruined by hackers as we speak..there runned by a company called jagex who promotes "kids playing" useing mini clips as a form of advertismenton "kiddie"game sites that ruin the average adult or teens gaming.now im sorry for any mispelling from here on in because im 14 myself. they say they do not allow kids under the age of 13 but they still advertise but they do...they have 200,000 players a day playing runescape andsays they have now reached above 1 million users(the hackers,the kids,and a small percentage of adults)and 2000 people on the fourms(adults some kids like me)the hackers who used to play these games are the "smart"people who know whats going on in jagexs lilttle company and plans to ruin it.they obviosly give the idea of a "kid" who plays runescape for a while to get a hackingtool,macroprogram,or even a virus thats why i dont support orhate these hackers and sometimes not all the times the kids are succesfull which teaches rule breaking not a very good learning experience to me.it is a good learning experience to see how a company can go so far to makeing an extra 5 bucks...nevertheless in my opinion this kind of stuff should be illigal lol.i am aslo an runescape addict who used to play the game to acheive "levels" for more than12 hours a lil day and a lil night and belive it or not had special interests in music who never thought it would come to this point....if i were you i would either show him the runescape fourms for at a minum of 5 hours fourms or just unplugg that damn computer because you said yourself he maybe a hacker wich decent ons can bypass a normalparental block(see how far it went already?!?. i realy hope that this post has helped you and please dont judge my comment based on spelling mistake, but i do take constructive critism im 14 gimme a break lol! you can check if all my things are in check at runescape.com check theyre rules, safteysecurity,fourms(the best check out the rants) ,parents guideect.., a link to the kiddie website would be miniclips.com (hunt me down i dont realy care)

(an interesting thing that i have found was that a popular player called i mahtma i..a pker(playerkillers)you can see his videos at youtube.comsearch i mahtma i...if you see something called pking vids bingo you got it...) I AM GIVEING MY EXPERIENCE AS AN EXAPMLE AND I DONT BELIEVE MY EXPEIRINCES SHOULD BE TAKEN AWAY so the company or there players have nothing on me...upholds freedom of speech
