I belong to PETA. People for the Eating of Tasty Animals, that is. I respect a person’s choice to be vegetarian, vegan, etc. but I am vehemently opposed to the animal rights group most commonly known as PETA. People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals is, in my opinion, a crock of shit. Don’t get me wrong, by saying PETA is a crock of shit, I’m not saying we should test beauty products on animals. I’m saying PETA sucks. I eat free-range meat whenever possible. I believe we should treat animals ethically, but I don’t believe in a lot of PETA’s extreme views and methods. Spay and neuter pets, yes, go vegetarian, sure, but tell kids their mommy kills animals? Hell no. And hey, what is this “total animal liberation” …no pets? No service animals? I love my animals, thank you very much. Or what about the PETA employees who are facing animal cruelty charges for killing animals? Something doesn’t add up, I thought they were supposed to be saving animals? Or the fact that if animal testing found a cure for AIDS, the president of PETA is quoted as saying she would be against it? Sorry, but I’m a little more concerned about the three million people who have died from AIDS this year. I love this one; PETA funded an Animal Liberation Front activist who burned down a research laboratory in the name of animal liberation. Is that any way to get things done? I think not.
Above all things PETA that piss me off, however, is the “holocaust on your plate” campaign. It’s a traveling display featuring photos of animal slaughterhouse scenes next to photos from Nazi death camps. I don’t like the way animals are treated on huge farms, thus, I eat free-range meat (which I’m proud to say my school offers), but putting pictures of animals next to pictures of those people and saying they’re the same? That is one of the most disrespectful things I’ve ever witnessed. Can you imagine seeing a picture of your relative next to a chicken, with a caption that says “to animals, all people are Nazis”? Or children next to piglets with the caption “baby butchers”? It makes me sick.
Go vegan if you want to, but don’t push your beliefs on me. I’m tolerant of yours, well, until you shove PETA in my face and tell me about the holocaust on my plate. I like meat, and I don’t really care if we can live without it. I’ve heard it all, and at the end of the day, I like a good steak with my vegetables.
I know I didn’t give you any sources here, but I’m pretty sure you can use google as well as I can. And you can call "People for the Eating of Tasty Animals" disrespectful and intolerant all you want, but it's a pun, and hey, I am for the eating of tasty animals.

We at PETA salute you, that's People for the Eating of Testy Activists.
I have several vegetarian friends, and I fully respect their decisions not to eat meat, but I don't think it is wrong for humans to eat meat. Like many animals, our bodies are designed to eat meat as well as vegetables. While I don't necessarily agree with the ways meat animals are raised, I think humans eating animals is a natural part of the circle of life, and that it's more important to be aware of what you're eating and where it came from then to say eating certain things is wrong.
I also disagree with the “total animal liberation” idea you mentioned PETA promoting. Pets and service animals are usually treated with much more love, care, and respect then animals can expect to find in the wild (if you can't/don't want to give them that it's another issue), so I don't think there is anything wrong with having pets and service animals.
You write - "I eat free-range meat whenever possible. I believe we should treat animals ethically,........." - OK - nice - so you eat "ethically" - so logically most of what you eat must be animals who have died from old age or "road kill"!
It is good to know that you do not support the taking of healthy animals / animal babies & slaughtering them.
Your school must be pretty amazing!
Good for you girl!
