Smokers quit now while you still can...

Smokers quit smoking...

I recently visited my Grandmother, a smoker for 30+ years! She smoked 2 to 3 packs a day and was slowing killing herself, it seemed that every time I visited her she was coughing more and had less and less energy. The last time I visited her I asked her "How long will you live?", just a random question and the rest was history! For when I came back to visit her this most recent trip, she told me that what I had said inspired her to quit smoking and that she had not had 1 smoke in a whole month and plans to NEVER smoke again, I was overjoyed and told her how proud I was of her!!!

My point is that she not only quit smoking but she was taking much less medication and had not coughed once during my visit, she has tons of more energy and more stamina and her overall health was increasing by the week! So, smokers beware, all you are doing is slowly killing yourself! My Grandma quit by using the pill and patch together, whatever it takes, do it, quit smoking, YOUR LIFE DEPENDS ON IT, that is what I feel at least, I plan to never smoke in my life, it a bad bad thing smoking!!!

I totally agree. I continually suggest to my girlfriend to quit every chance that I get. I even send her pictures of tarred lungs of patients with emphysema and lung cancer who were smokers. Hopefully she will one day, so she can live a long and happy life. Maybe together.... :P

I hope she quits smoking also, so indeed you 2 can live together LONGER!

I feel the same way. And everyday we warn my mother. We can already see her derioating. It's so sad to see. I wish they could open their eyes and see what they are doing to themselves.

I wish smokers could see they are killing themselves too!

Me too, I will never smoke. Don't want to take 20 years or more off of my life

Exactly, because smoking will take years from you!

But then, your grandma will die anyway.

I think you should keep your negative comments to yourself, thanks!

I guess you just can't handle the truth: Quit smoking, and die anyway. What an incentive, right?

sheep, I trip through your track page now and then and click on something random, certain that I'll be satisfied by another display of a miraculous, virulent, soul-crushing satire. Another post, another success. You're just generally, specifically, deck.

No, seriously. Are you British?

What? no. Tennessean.

edit. let's be a little more creative: a melange: North Carolinan by birth, tennessean by growth, greek by philosphy, russian by melancholy, Randian by hero, frippian by music, Nabokovian by jouissance!

Odd. Are you sure you're not also British by writing style preference?

I dunno, specifically. I'm sure there are many Britains who also possess whatever random elements of style are significant to you. ahem, I'm sure there are also many other geniuses, regardless of their ancestries.

You're right. And come to think of it, "genius from Tennessee" has a really nice ring to it. I sure hope I get to meet that guy soon.

In the meantime, we've moved too far away from T1986's dying grandma, so I'll stop flooding here. See you in some other thread.

Thank you for leaving sheep pig, finally, and just so you know, we are all slowly dying, so you can just shut up for once, goodbye to you forever!

You're right. Thanks for making me aware that we are all slowly dying; I'd never figure it out by myself.

So. Why did you say smokers should stop smoking again?

Thanks for the help with him Protagonist!

Sheep dude, whoever you are, leave please!

You really remind me of someone I know on another website!

If you read the post, you would have your answer smart ass!

If you don't quit on your own, I wonder if non-smokers will eventually make it impossible to be a smoker.

In Washington State, there's a law now that you can't smoke in any restaurant, and you can't smoke within 25 feet of public buildings, which makes it almost impossible to smoke anywhere in the city. The rule applies to even cigar bars.

I've noticed that since the law passed in December of last year, I'm much more bothered when I smell smoke. It is nice to have smoke-free bars. I do sympathize with the smokers, though.

They are doing the same thing here in the midwest. It's very difficult to find any place where smoking is allowed anymore. When I lived in a suburb of Boston, they would not even allow smoking if you were outside and walking down the sidewalk.

I am not sure what I feel about these laws, as I can see both sides. The main reason I have for being against the laws is that it just seems like more of a way for the government to try to control more and more of the citizens.
