No, I’m not talking about seniors in high school and I’m not talking about seniors in college. I’m talking about seniors, you know, grandma and grandpa. Most people don’t want to even think about their parents having sex, gramps and grandma are no different.
Sex for seniors can be more dangerous than sex among the youth. Many of these seniors haven’t been exposed to sex education that includes STD’s that has impacted us. I was watching Today on NBC and they said that 20% of new cases of HIV are senior citizens.
One of the problems is that some seniors feel that condoms are used against pregnancy, and they aren’t worried about knocking up another senior. They don’t care or even know about what else condoms can protect them from. Another problem is that seniors find talking about sex to be rude even though they are sexual active. It is just a topic they keep behind closed doors.
If we want to keep grandma and grandpa alive and kicking longer, they need to be exposed to updated sexual education. Sex in the golden years is happening whether we want to believe it or not. They have Viagra among other drugs that can help out. Their doctors need to talk to them about sexual diseases and protection. Maybe, we’ve hit a time where the kids need to sit the parents down to have a sex talk; a little weird, but it can save a life.

i really do love old people. they are funny, witty, and for the most part all beautiful people. I think that if they are still doing it then more power to them. They arn't all stupid. My grandma watches more news than i do!! so sad but true

It's so true though, we studied it in one of my classes this semester.
STD's are growing fastest in the elderly population than any other. It's important to talk about it, as gross as you may think it is.

This was an eye opener at first I was worried that you would just talk about how sex with older people was gross or something. I think it is an important issue and I never really thought it. But it makes sense, they promote abstinence all through highschool, then you are thrown into the big world where some colleges occassionally have information, but the older generations never got any of this information because when laws went into effect about sex education they were too old to benefit. I don't think elderly associations bring up much about it because they prefer to either turn their head to the idea and refuse to believe it's going on, or maybe because of the fact that they find it gross. I don't really know but you're right something needs to be done. I know like one of the people that posted above though, my grandparents would probably have a heartattack if I started trying to teach them. I think maybe they should be educated when they get their physicals or there should be in the news about it.

I think this is an interesting topic. Once in middle school, a woman (a senior citizen) came to talk to us about AIDs. She had had sex with a younger man without protection, because like you said, she didn't have to worry about getting pregnant. Well, she was tested HIV positive. And now she goes around to schools talking about protecting yourself against STDs. It really made me realize that these diseases can happen to anyone. Even old people!
I also think it's great for old people to have sex! I think that if you're able, you might as well. I learned in psychology that seniors usually don't have sex because younger society thinks it's gross. It's really sad.
I don't have a problem w/ other seniors having sex, just not my seniors. If you new my grandmothers, you would understand.
Yes, senior have sex.
Senior talk about sex as much as young people. Only our bodies get old not our spirits. We ogle young women, we ogle middle-aged women, we ogle older women. You see the older you get the more women there are who could be an attractive partner!
We don't just lust after the 20's and 30's. At 65 we know that a woman in her 50's can look gooood!
Don't think it is just the men who feel this way! I have visited retirement communities and the most popular guys are always the single men or newest widowers.
Maybe we don't have the stamina for all night sex but we have the stamina for committment and companionship.

i'm not sure how i feel after reading this i mean thinking of older people having sex just isn't the thoughts i want to have in my mind. I've been to canada and europe and seen the girls which will go on dates with you for a price and loved how they looked escorts in london were my favorite for their accents, but recently i saw some documentary on truckers and they showed a place out in the midwest that took care of the drivers and i was almost disgusted by what i saw and couldn't imagine anyone paying to be with those women.
