In Michigan 07 the race between the extreme right Walberg with the help of 527's has gotten quite ugly, Republican Schwarz voted with Bush over 90% of the time and claimed to be a moderate but was a huge disappointment to Democrats. And yet, the extreme right Walberg and his 527's have been spamming attack ads and push polls across the district. 90% and that still wasn't extreme right-enough for them.
In early counts it appeared that Schwarz was going to go down big time. Now it looks like it might boil down to one area...Jackson, Michigan.
Michigan 7th district incumbent Joe Schwarz with each passing hour. With Schwarz’s home county of Calhoun reporting at 10:45 pm, the moderate ex-doctor had pulled dead even with the more conservative Walberg, 1,936 votes to 1,944!
This districts in Michigan have been gerrymandered for Republican wins. In 2004, many Democrats crossed over and voted for Schwarz with the understanding that he was a moderate. And compared to Walberg he is a commy! That doesn't describe Schwarz's philosophy at all, but instead describes just how far right (wrong) Walberg is. However, Schwarz disspointed most Democrats and will not get the support he got last time.
So keep your eyes on this race. Anytime an incombent has to spend that much money in a primary, it doesn't bode well for re-election.

Wire and staff reports
Former state Rep. Tim Walberg defeated freshman U.S. Rep. Joe Schwarz on Tuesday night in the hotly contested 7th Congressional District Republican primary.
Schwarz, a Battle Creek surgeon, conceded the race after 11 p.m. With 68 percent of the district's precincts reporting, Walberg had 55 percent, or 24,564 votes, to Schwarz's 45 percent, or 19,739 votes.
The contest, which has drawn national attention, represented an ideological clash between Schwarz, a moderate, and Walberg, who was one of the most conservative state lawmakers during his 16 years in the state House.

Buying Congress now! Most of Walbergs donations weren't even from his district!
