Not so Progressive, Beware

So many years have past. And still some business are not progressive. Does it seem that they have gone down hill? Years ago they were racist towards some workers and customers. And until recently, to me they were doing fine. All of the sudden, suddenly I see that some are regressing back to the times of Big Monopolies and taking over everything. Crushing the little guy and doing as they wish. While some business are moving forward, some take steps back. Or maybe I have not seen that this has happened all along. Maybe it's the people that manage them. With so much technology and advancement how can this still happen? If the company does something wrong, or if their workers do something, than the customer should not have to pay for it...
There are so many, but I will pick the most recent one: (No I am not the only one that has had a problem with them, search yahoo and the news and you will find others) The Computer company was helpful and so their name will not be revealed)

Examples: FedEx=
Summary: I bought an item. I needed it ASAP. 5 days passed, it did not arrive. I bought it from a Computer company, they shipped it using Fedex. 5 days later the tracking said that I had received it, but I had not. It said that it was signed by the person who received it. It did not show any signature. So I called by Computer company, they said this:

           (beware, these are quotes, there are misspelling on them, since I was angry when I wrote to them)

 

Computer Company:="Sign for by: S.*her name* Delivered to: Receptionist/Front Desk " --->(FIRST OFF, I live in a house, we don't have a front desk)

"I have check our record and found out that your Restore CD was already delivered last Mar 14, 2006 at 10:49 AM. You may need to contact FedEx to confirm this matter. The tracking number is ******** "

Fedex="To help us follow up on this situation, please e-mail the following information to us: - The complete address of the shipper - Telephone contact number - Package detail/package description "

Computer Company ="The misdelivery of part will not be handled by us but it will be more of FedEx, I would strongly suggest for you to contact FedEx to help you more on this issue"

Computer Company: "We do not have any information on where the part sent from. Also, The
desrciption of the package is Restore CD." (without this info, Fedex can't help me)

My email to Comp Company:

"Thank you for trying to help me, but I am not getting anywhere. I called the "computer company" office and they told me that they don't know from were the item was shipped from, and that Basicaly, they can't help. And fedex is not helping either, so I ask that "computer company" solve this matter with Fedex. I paid for an item that was not delivered to me, and it is not my fault that it did not arrive. I can't do anything except waste time while fedex figures out what they did. Since "computer company" paid Fedex to ship the item, you can cancel the payment you gave them, or I can cancel my credit card payment so someone does something. I need my Disc ASAP, so if there is a problem, consult with each others, I didn't pay to go all though this. Though you have been some help, I don't have time to fix this and i'm getting very frustrated. -So please call Fedex, tell them that the item you shipped did not reach it's destination. I did however find out were they shipped it to, but found out that the place did not have my package, so they either stole it, opened it, or mailed it back to sender (and even if I contact Fedex, I would have to wait 15 days to file I claim, and I don't have that time), either way I need my cds by Monday. So please re-send my cds, or do something to reslove this. I call Fedex (but that was no help). -If there is further problem, I'd like a number to call, maybe a manager or something beacuse I am at my wits ends p.s it was shipped to here:

MY ADDRESS is ******* CA according to the tracking record, my item was handed over to Quote Fedex: "According to our records, this shipment was delivered on March 14, 2006 at 10:49am and was signed for by S. ***** at the Receptionist/Front Desk of Autozone Store # ****." I checked and looked for Autozone Store #****, and for Ms. S.***** and discovered their address, which is: **************

(Mine is *302 and theirs is *031, so they sort of look similar) "

Thank you for responding. I understand that you are still having issues
on the restore CD...

I understand how inconvenient this situation can be and I will be glad
to help you with your concern.

In this case, I will be sending you another restore CD for your system.
Thank you for confirming the shiiping address but the shipping address
was the correct address indicated in the restore CD.

Here is your service request number, ******. The Restore CD
will arrive in 3-5 business days.
I have documented this correspondence under Case Number ********* to
keep a record of your contact with us.  You may use this for
future reference with this issue"

The MORAL of the story? Some companies are not looking out for you. Humans are humans and mistakes happen. But if you make a mistake, than accept it and do what is right. What bothered me is the time it took. I had proof of what had happened. I asked for help, and they took their time. One wanted info from the other, and vise verse. they did not want to talk to each other, so I was in the middle. It took about 10 days for them to get their act together. I did everything I could. And after 8 days of being friendly I wrote the letter to the Computer Company. It may sound harsh, but I did nothing wrong. The computer company didn't do anything wrong either, but they can cancel the payment to FedEx and I can't. So my advice is, always get signature confirmation, and follow up on your lost packages....And comments?
