No More Blindfolds

Sheltered.  In a word that is what we are.  Americans have not seen a war on our soil, a political coup, or a revolution in our generation.  That brought me to wonder if we really understand what it would take to fix all of our problems at hand?  Granted I have the freedom to write this so I am far and away ahead of most countries, but who knows when this will disappear.  A few years back we lost a freedom and said nothing.  A few years before that we lost a few more freedoms and we remained silent.  We sat in fear and allowed a few men to go unchecked in the name of "security" when rights given to us by the men that founded this country were lost.  We were no longer allowed to gather in the name of certain principals, we were no longer able to openly in fear of our neighbors telling secrets, and finally we were no longer able to feel belonging to government; suddenly we were trapped by it.  Words like 9/11 and patriot were suddenly scary and we all hid.

I don't blame you.  I blame no one for not taking action in those days.  The boogieman had risen and took two towers with him.  In the beginning we belived it was for the best.  In the beginning we were naive.  Then quietly the voices began again.  We all started to talk about injustice and a war that we did not believe in.  Then finally came a voice spread across the country; united, but divided at the same time.  A voice that has been whispering since the 60's.  A voice that is a cry for change.  We hear it, but the responce is still unclear.  What it is saying is revolution.  The only thing that we have to answer is how.
