Mark your calendars! Make a difference in society and in the lives of others by giving a helping hand and participate in the 16th Annual National Make A Difference Day: http://usaweekend.com/diffday/index.html. This is an amazing volunteer opportunity to reach out to our friends, family and neighbors and make a positive impact in their lives. Many individuals and organizations partake in this annual event. A few years ago, an organization that I volunteer for registered for Make a Difference Day. We spent the day at area hospitals visiting parents that have children in the neonatal intensive care unit. We offered support information for families experiencing a perinatal crisis, offered our time to share and listen to their struggles and provided care packages filled with various items to the families. We also showed our appreciation to the caring and wonderful nurses by providing them with flowers and treats. For more information and ideas on how to participate on Saturday, October 26, 2006 visit the official Make A Difference Day website at the above link. If you have participated in previous Make A Difference Day events, feel free to share your volunteer experience by responding to this blog. Thank you for your support! :)

Good idea to post this. Hopefully kids who say they are trying to make a difference by "blogging" will actually do something helpful.
I totally agree with you! Thank you for your support. My entire reason for my blogging is to make a difference. I volunteer in a few organizations. It truly is an amazing feeling to know that I have made a positive difference through my volunteer efforts.
Yeah, I heard about this from this book called The Difference A Day Makes. I was planning to post about it once it got closer to the date
