Kazakhstan Launches Satellite

Of all the places that can launch spacecraft, I never knew that Kazakhstan was one of them. I also never knew it is the home of the world's largest space center. I hope that we do not lose our lead in the space race, if we still have it. At least they had technical problems like we do. The satellite was originally supposed to be launched six months ago in December 2005.

i have never heard of kazakhstan

I really hope you're kidding...

Wasn't the government considering shutting NASA down a little while back? Anyway, at this point, I don't think there is a conscious 'space race' anymore.

I just went to NASA's website and found what seems to be an advertisement for a launch on July 1 from Kennedy Space Center. It looks like the cover of a movie.

The main point of my post was that I never knew Kazakhstan was able to launch spacecraft. Since I did not know about Kazakhstan's ability to launch spacecraft, I decided that it was important enouh to be on my blog.

I added a sentence about the space race because we will not be too happy with ourselves if say China takes over the moon (they are planning to go to the moon).

I wasn't saying that it was unimportant. It's definitely important. Kazakhstan is a developing country, and this is a remarkable step for them. I was just commenting on a portion of your blog (be it the unimportant part).
