I was speaking with a friend of mine over MSN IM earlier today, when he asked me if I had seen the new GOP Political Ad that was going to be aired for the upcoming election. When I told him no, he gave me this link:
I have to say that I am disgusted. I watched this video and I felt like I was watching a recruitment video for Osama Bin-Laden, not a GOP political video. What person down in Washington is messed-up in the head so much that they think a video like this is what the American People want to see right now? Especially since this month of October is getting closer and closer to the deadliest month in 2 years for American Soldiers; deaths currently sit at 83. I suppose I can understand why they made the ad the way they did, and I think the Democratic Committee person in the video explains it fairly well. THey want to scare Americans into voting for them, and im not gonna lie, if that's what they wanted to do, they are sure doing it well.
Next comes the Counter Ad made by the Democrats, which I can't agree more with. This whole "War on Terrorism" was started in 2001 and was supposed to go to Afghanistan to remove Osama and his fellow leaders. But instead, the US Government has moved into Iraq, and captured a person that Bush Sr. wanted captured. Did you know that the American Government has actually cut financial and military support to look for Osama? Makes you think about just what the American Government's priorities are huh?
Let's look at some of the facts here:
Who attacked the US? Osama and his followers
Where was Osama? Afghanistan
Who did the US Capture? Not Osama
WHere is the US? Iraq
Gee... to me things appear to be a bit fishy. Anyways, back to the video.
I really don't think this video is a good idea. We all know what is happening over there, at least through the media's eyes. We don't need to turn on the Television and see an Osama recruitment video. I think this video is just going to make things worse for the US. What do you think? What are your Progressive U Opinions about this video? Let it be aired, or not?
