A Proverb That can Change The World! seriously! Don't believe me? well read it and prove me wrong

Here's a little proverb.  A proverb from a bumper sticker.  Yeah, I know, it sort of sounds like an oxymoron compared to all those "GIT-R-DONE" and "Hell Was Full So I Came Back" type of stickers we all may have read during rush hour bumper to bumper traffic.  Only if everybody in the world would live by this proverb.  Because if they did, the world would be a better place.   Yet alone if everybody lived by any proverb the world WOULD be better place.  No questions. So here it is enjoy!

"When the power of love overcomes the love of power the world will know peace"

There definitely an undeniable truth to that. Who made this proverb up?

Love plagued with ignorance is dangerous -- just look at the Inquisition. When ignorance of each other, be it gender, race, economic class, nationality, politics, or subculture fades, peace is near at hand, in my opinion. When you learn and allow yourself to understand your enemy, love is not too far behind.

I believe that was Hendrix.

and love is fantastic, of course, but I doubt it's the key to world peace or anything.....why? eh...I'm not gonna bother with explaining.

Well I'm not saying it like the hippy way, you know, like "Peace dude" "LOVE". I'm saying, when people get over the love of power, money, etc. (you know like the greedy type) and care more about the well being of others by treating others like they wanted to be treated, than the world will know peace. Capiche?

I don't see why it couldn't be the answer. Power is a big contributor to conflict at all levels in my opinion.

You gotta love the wisdom of bumper stickers. There's nothing so great in the world. It is, however, a widely abused thing. Far too many think cars look much better completely covered in the things. Thus, the wisdom that the bumper stickers could have departed is lost in a sea of "WTF where they thinking" sentiments.

But yes, great proverb and oh so true. Unfortunately, while many will realize that, those with the power really don't give a crap and likely never will. Hmm.. when did I become such a pessimist? Must needs fix that.

LOVE can't accomplish all things... just some, not enough for world peace.

Thank you.

was that with enough love for fellow man in ones' heart, greed and corruption and war would be impossible, because if we truely had brotherly love for one another, how the hell could we drop a bomb or force someone halfway around the world to work in a sweatshop to make sneakers for us? I think that was all he was saying....

Love ya,
Carrot

However true that may be, unfortunately I don't think that "when" will fulfill itself anytime soon.

I love bumper stickers. I'm thinking about buying a whole bunch of them and stick it all over my house to remind me everyday before I get to school. lol. That would be a fun sight to see.

I considered bumper stickering my car. It's one of those cars that would look good in bumper stickers.
