Today I was coming home from my appointment that I had at the hospital and I decided to turn on the radio of the car. There was a commercial talking about what topics were going to be covered in the local news of our town. I was shocked to hear that one of the topics to be covered was about the health hazards that we were going to experience during this year's summer days. For a moment I assumed that they were talking about illnesses and viruses that might be contagious. Little did I know about what they were talking about until I started watching the local news earlier today. It turns out that air pollution has risen so much that my town will have days where they suggest that we stay indoors. The people and I which live in this town are now in danger because of air contamination. The news dfid not have much information to share with us abou this issue so I'm assuming that this could all be a prediction for this summer or the years to come.
Now think about this. Our town is not exactly an industrial town. We don't have any major factories built here. We also aren't very busy until the noon hours and from 4-6 PM. Besides that, the only thing releasing a lot of Carbon monoxide are the buses whichbrun from 5:30 AM until 9:00 PM. There are cities and towns where there is way more activity (meaning as in more Carbon monoxide being released into our atmosphere.) than our own. If that is the case, then those towns have less time to enjoy a full summer without worrying about air contamination. This is of course if the predictions become a reality someday. Getting to the point to what I'm trying to say is that we have to try our best to find alternate ways of producing items and finding cleaner methods of transportation. Everyday people worry about maintaining their houses clean and yet don't realize that they are making their environment that much more dirty. Every mess that is cleaned in your house is probably doubled and put outside in nature as:
1. You spray chemicals into the house and open your windows soon after for a "fresh" air circulation of air.
2. You go to the stores by car or bus to buy cleaning products not realizing how much Carbon monoxide is released into our atmosphere in just one trip.
This is most likely a few of the many ways we pollute Earth just by cleaning alone. All it takes to stop all this is adaptation. Unfortunately, there are a lot of people who make the idea of adaptation so hard. All I'm saying is act now before our summer days are gone.
