I find it hilarious that in my home town, as I drive down main street I see a huge billboard put up and paid for by a Mega-Church, advertising this weeks service.
Wouldn't you think that this church could find a better way to spend the money that their congregations has given them. What about the poor the churches are always claiming to help. What about the help they could be giving to the needy.It costs $900 to $2,500 to rent a billboard. Think of how many diapers could be bought for single mothers, how many value meals or sandwiches could be given to homeless, just for the cost of that single billboard. Instead of spending their money on advertisement, this church could be doing what they so pompously claim to do, help. Everyday the churches of america show their true colors in their selfish acts. Christians don't do anything for the love of others, or just to help, but because they want to go to heaven when they die. This is in my mind, such a blatant example of the churches pompous, greedy, hateful nature. Christian Love, what a joke.

It's unfortunate that the current Church is so far off and corrupted from what it was centuries ago. It's even more unfortunate that it's been like this for centuries. When it wasn't advertising, it was declaring wars and forcing people to convert. I don't think it's been the way it was meant to be since a century or two after Jesus' death.
Love the man, hate the fan club...
