Prom is such a big deal every single year. From the school advertising it to all the companies advertising it. What has happened to the old traditions though?Â
It used to be that seniors and seniors would go. It has an age range from freshman year up to 21 years old. What is so special about prom if you go every single year though and do these freshman understand the importance that it is to seniors. At my school the guys decided to ditch their senior girl dates to take freshman. The senior girls were furious and I can understand why.Â
It doesn't even matter to the freshman. They are just excited that they are going and that their a freshman. I would understand the situation if the girl and guy were going out. The freshman then of course went out to but their dress first. In our town the bridal shops ask what school you are from so there won't be two of the same dresses at the same prom. The freshman either made it first and overpicked the dresses or took the ones that the senior girls were looking at. Prom doesn't mean to much to me but for the people that it did mean a lot to I can understand why they were upset. It would make me upset to. I am just curious why the girls have to be so ruthless and not care.Â
So, the question is what happened to the old traditions and when did everything start to take the wrong turn? Who knows the answer to that question and who will ever be able to figure out that mystery but until then it just seems like a competition to between the seniors and whoever stands in their way. Oh boy, more high school drama!!

you ask why the girls are so ruthless for one, well if the guys are the one ditching the girls in the first place to take younger girls then it is the guys that are ruthless, me I was dumped 3 days before my prom and I had to go with 3 of my friends instead. As to when things started to go wrong, Im thinking about the same time women started to have children out of wed lock and having children at the age of 15. the world is ruthless and thats how things are, there is no changing things anymore.
Prom is not important to me at all. I could care less about prom. I mean there's no reason to go all out waisting money on things that you will only use for one night, when you can be putting that money up tso that you can have it when it comes time to go to college.
As for the boys dumping girls, you should have a date thet you know you can trust. If you have the least bit of doubt about this person, don't allow them to take you to prom. Choose someone who you can trust, enjoy, and have a great time with.
