Goverment Raids Trust Fund OF Medicare

The Gov’t is raiding the trust fund of Medicare for Children’s Health Insurance. House of Reps says that the only things funded in the Gov’t are Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. On Cspan today at 6PM a Rep from the house said that everybody in the US would have to buy 155 thousand dollars worth of treasury bills to pay for appropriations.
Guess they should be promoting that. Where are the wartime bonds?
If SCIP passes and I think it will, this bill is being paid for though 227billion Dollar cut in Medicare over the next ten years, a raise in the tobacco tax, and a raise in the taxes of private health insurance.
I’m just worried how this is going to affect MY health insurance. I have Medicare. If I want to see a Psychiatrist and not though the county it already costs about $100 dollars a months. I have a 50% co-pay. With getting rid of Medicare Advantage it will drive prices up I believe. Putting all patients on Medicare to get prescriptions then cutting the funding doesn’t really make sense though. Possibly, over the next year it might mean that I will have to pay $15 dollars a prescription so that children will have insurance. I know that I could afford that just barely. However, people on life saving prescriptions would have to make decisions on what to take and when to take it, and when they don’t have it when to die. Some people are on 15 different medications, this would cost 225, if they were are generic. A single person only gets $640 to $840 a month. Rent is about $495 a month on a one bedroom in MI. Food for the month is about $100, with going to Salvation army once a week. That leaves $105 approx. For co pays and hospital bills and a car. IT doesn’t work out really.
We do have to raise taxes to pay for gov’t handouts and normal gov’t spending, the money has to come from somewhere. Maybee we don’t need so much healthcare. The farm bill is important and in front of congress right now and contains programs so that will give children a free hot meal. Some children only get that one meal per day. But to get that money for the farm bill; I believe that raises the tobacco tax too. I’m very for the tobacco tax. For the reason that smokers cost more money to take care of then non smokers so they should pay. Also tobacco should be at the very least prohibited until 21 like alcohol.
I am upset that they are changing funding that was obviously set up to exclusively fund Medicare. Now that they aren’t running campaigns on changing Medicare they are setting up to make the changes not work. Possibly, they should raid Medicaid instead. Rasie the co-pays for glasses to $50 dollars, every 3 years. Set up gov’t houses for dental care and get rid of the dental coverage. Like the Care Institute that is trying to get funding in Lansing, MI. It will provide free dental care to everybody.
