"These are crazy times"
These words ring true in any era of history. But for me, graduating from high school soon, they are more true than ever. But the greatest thing that I can do in this great time of transistion is to pass on all the wisdom (or supposed wisdom) to those who I will leave behind.
I just read a great book called "On Intelligence" by Jeff Hawkins. In the book the author tries to establish a definition for intelligence, and does a wonderful job at it I might add. One of his greatest remarks is this, that what seperates us intellectually as humans from our 'less evolved brothers' the apes is that we have a language to pass on our view of the world. Apes can hoot.
What is the best thing you can do as you move through life? What is the greatest goal for man to acheive? What is the single highest pleasure a father can discover? The elation that comes from teaching the next generation all that we know. So that they may surpass us.
What we have greatest to gain comes from giving all we have.

Some aspects of existentialism are quite evident here.
Naturally, being an existentialist, I agree with your entry.
Nice to see I'm not alone.
I would not have thought myself an existentialist, however we tend to be many things we think we aren't.
