It has long been said that if we had a black president, our nation would be in total chaos. And now as we approach the elections of next year, we see that it just might happen. But then the question is, will our nation be able to handle it. Recently, we have had no real activists that have been oing against the social norms, and everyone has been conforming. But if we elect Barack Obama as our nation's president, all I can see is potential upside. It is scary how we still have this as an issue though. One would think that after all our nation has overcome that we would be over the difference in skin color, because that is all it is. We are all still humans, but with different backgrounds and skin colors. And when people question if Barack Obama is "really" black, that upsets me. What is "BLACK" and who has the right to define it. Just because a black man is not a dark skinned brother who has 4 babies mamas and wears a do rag and barely made it past 10th grade, does that mean he is not really black? Well if we had a first black president, overall, it would do our nation some Good!!!!

Well, Barack is just as black as he is white as far as race is concerned, but those who want to either use it as either an indication of a positive step forward or as something to hold against him only take into account his black heritage.

I just want to comment that no one considered Barack "...just as black as he is white as far as race is concerned..." until AFTER he had a chance at being President... There is a law that if you have "black" blood in you, you are considered black... but now that one of these people with "black" blood are proven to be something, he is "...just as black as he is white as far as race is concerned..." BS.... we will keep him as "Black" since the government pushed him off on us like he was wrong years ago...
It is just as racist to vote for Obama because he is black as to not vote for him because he is black. Change just for the sake of change doesn't equall progression.
