But a Constitutional Republic. Bet you didn't know that at all, why? Because they don't teach us that in school. Democracy only means that it's mob rule, something the Founding Father's did not believe in. Why you ask? Because we seem to have an uncontrollable desire to have a leader to tell us what to do. It is rare to find people who believe in individualism because we cannot think for ourselves anymore. That is why the Constitution and our Federal Government were created, so that we would have a way to stop the democratic drift toward mob rule.
What is very funny is that during the 1787 Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia they basically were trying to thwart democracy to protect liberty. Something I have hit on before in other blogs. Do you find it interesting that no where in the Constitution does it say anything about democracy? I don't you know why, because this country was NOT founded as a democracy. Majority rule is a bad idea, even Thomas Jefferson didn't like the idea of unlimited majority rule.

Jefferson and the Founding Father's believed when a nation gives up its liberty, then it automatically gives up its property and millions of people slide into poverty. There is your answer to all the poverty in America, we have been giving up our liberties, long before Bush came into office.
We only have ourselves to blame for what is happening to this country as we slide deeper into democracy and farther from the principles laid down by the Founding Fathers.

I think you need to give the memo to our president and the greater population,that thinks that America is a democracy.
Dear Mr.President:
Sorry to inform you that the United States isn't a democracy but a Constitutional Republic. So why are we the example of a country that thrives on it but we're not? I guess it's the schools fault for not teaching you the facts. I suppose no one in the White House knew either. Don't feel bad, you'renot the only president who though this and a lot of other people think so also. Please take this information and pass it on to your comrades.
