New Age

With the recent popularity of the New Age religion, many criticisms have followed, good and bad. If you are not familiar with the New Age religion, it has a broad range of ideals, ranging from mysticism to many orthodox ideas. The concept of New Age is that of taking things that you like from different religions and setting up your own system of belief. New Age people believe that all humans are interconnected spiritually and if we focus hard enough, we could actually attain a level of communication so far unachieved by any conventional religions. Being in control of your own mind and using your thoughts to determined the way you see the world could have a very positive impact. The thought that a certain number of people that are spiritually communicative with each other and the world could change the course of history or initiate positive feelings between all cultures is mind-boggling. Many people feel this as betrayal to their personal religion, but in a time when religious persecution runs rampant throughout the world and diversity is struggling, can another belief system (one that encourages religious tolerance and spiritual freedom) possibly cause any harm? If a new generation can usher in an era that allows for total freedom and spiritual attunement, what can stop the message of peace that follows it? Comments? Questions?
