Holy American Empire?

I know that it seems farfetched, but it seems that our current government is baring many similarities to the Holy Roman Empire in its declination period. Some obvious indicators are: corruption of political leaders, greed, power hunger, and sex centralism. If one looks back at these components of the Roman Empire they can clearly see our nation's similarity to it. The corruption of our political leaders can be seen obviously through George Bush. He is so driven by greed that it seems that he has forsaken our nation's necessities. As for the hunger for power, well, it goes hand-in-hand with greed. The more oil and money we can attain the more power we have. And as for sex, please look at modern media, comprising everything from magazines to the internet. You may be wondering, "What does this have to do with the Roman Empire?" Well if you look at the empire in its decline you will see political corruption in all forms; greed, hunger for power, and barbaric political leaders. The Holy Roman Empire was so vast with so much land and power that it lost control over its people. All of these contributed to the empire's fall...one could wonder, is the US headed for self-destruction?
