According to research published in Nature magazine, scientists have discovered a new method of regenerating stem cells to aid stroke victims. The technique causes the brain to be induced in to forming new stem cells, thereby reducing some of the disabilities which accompany a stroke.
This discovery is unique since it attempts to use the body to heal itself instead of external impositions. Earlier treatments involving embryonic cells created counter-productive reactions from the body's immune system.
I was excited to read this. I think stem cell research is very important. This would be great if they can develop this into a treatment for stroke victims. It will help so many people that have lost control of parts of their brain and body. I think stem cell research is making amazing discoveries that will help improve many people's lives.
