Biff and Happy are the ones that should have showed the most compassion because Willy was their father. They did not even heed what their mother was saying to them when she told them about his suicide attempts. Possibly, they are even more guilty then Willy’s boss was because they knew. Sure the boss could have figured it out but Happy and Biff knew. They did not care. All Biff cared about was getting away from his family and having his own life. All Happy cared about was sex and money. Biff and Happy were selfish. Biff was a lot less selfish than Happy but in the end he still gave up on his family. Also, Biff is the one that had the guts to stand up for his mother when Willy was yelling at her. I know that Biff tried but he gave up way too early. If he had just tried a bit harder to get along with his father then maybe Willy would not have killed himself. Willy needed to feel loved by more people then just his wife. If Biff had shown love then maybe Willy would have calmed down. Society killed Willy because the people in society showed no compassion for a man in need. Willy was worked to the max and he asked his boss for a break and his boss refused to give it to him. His children did not show that they loved their father. They were just thinking about themselves. Happy was especially guilty of this. Society is the blame, not Willy!
