My First Blog about Veterans

I am a veteran. So I would like to give you my Reasons for being angry right now.

This do-nothing- Congress claim they support the troops and veterans . Brothers and Sisters no they do not. You see them wrap their arms around us and say thank you. While the cut the Veterans Budget to the bone. We joined to pay for our Education. But  just try to have it paid for. 600,000 veterans last year alone where denied or put on huge waiting list for health care. Returning troops are now starting to show signs of Depleted Uranium. Q fever is killing veterans right now. I am a man of few words do I will just post a link to show you how bad we need a change in Congress.

Thank you for serving my country.

I'd definitely look into other sources of media before getting too angry with the government at the moment. The link you gave is from a rather... obviously partisan source, so I'd look into something less partisan :) For all you know, they cut some money there to put it into something else for veterans.

Yet, I do believe that veterans are not adequately provided for. I find it too many times, especially as I am a senior in high school and looking to begin my careerr... I find it too much that people warn me about recruiters. Everyone I speak to in the military and out of say, watch out for the recruiters. watch out for the military, they make promises they never keep.

This is definitely not the kind of idea that should surround the armed forces... it is rather sad.

Anyhow, check out my blog -- I like your ideas here, I'll be back to check you out ;)

http://www.vawatchdog.org Thanks for the reply

that doesn't make it wrong.

Just curious...a nonbiased report spoke about Depleted Uranium being used on our own soldiers and Iraqius--causing serious birth defects and horrible cancers.

Where's the Republican literature saying exactly what they're doing to stop that? Where's the Republican literature saying they intend to fully cover PTSD instead of continuing their cut and run pattern against the very soldiers who have served our nation.

Just because something has a "Democrat" on it doesn't mean it's wrong.

Think about it. Listen to this soldier. He's telling you like it is!

The Republicans CUT spending on soldiers medical care.

The Republicans have refused to allow soldiers to get diagnosed with PTSD so that means our soldiers are suffering even more.

The Republicans have cut spending to the VA hospitals and even closed many of them down.

So, I suggest digging up the positive facts for what Republicans have done to help before suggesting that one side isn't truthful.

***The thing is, if you control the Senate meetings, you control the gavel. And the gavel is a very important instrument... an instrument of power. An instrument that establishes the agenda.

The Veterans Affairs (VA) will have no money left after Oct. 31 st. What does that mean for some Veterans ? No appointment no meds. No New Equipment like X Ray or MRI Machines. Freeze on all Jobs. Clinics closed. And here is the worse part returning troops will not be taken care of.America needs to wake up Congress does not care about the Troops or Veterans. They just care to protect people like Mark Foley. Just a Vet ranting again.

Right now on http://www.vawatchdog.org you can look under vote veteran and the grade are in on all Reps. in Congress by DAV. Here is a hint not one Republican has a passing grade. There are some article's there that show that DOD is now sending troops with mental problems back to Iraq. I will never vote Republican again.

Iraq Veterans Against the War and Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA) have put a lot of pressure on Congress to fix the problem at VA; hopefully, it works.
