How many kids will be attending failing schools? There are schools who do not even have the basics for teachers. Some teachers buy supplies out of the pocketbook. There are no innovative programs out there in some communities. Transfering a kid who has not passed exams in one school to another only brings down the school.
There should be ways for kids to learn basic skills in school. I agree there should be a between high and middle school. I think this would be a good time to teach them practical skills needed to survive. We got kids who can not pass math or even balance a checkbook. We need to put fun back into school. One way of retaining skils would be online courses over the summer insted of the book list sent yearly.
Teachers shold be given grants to use for the tissues and other items needed for classroom. Kids are being short changed. There are too many yes men on school boards. I also think if they didnt pass the exams.
There are too many things I would like to mention one thing is parents need to care about education. Kids need to be kept in school and not allowed to drop out. Administrators need to be held responsible. Teachers should be allowed to be innovative.
One teacher got fired for not giving up time to teach the exams. He wanted kids to learn the material. Maybe we should have extra time buit into the school years to teach the exams. Kids need a full education.
Physical education programs are eliminated and mostly because of time needed to pass the AYP. One program in GA is facing deaccredatation. This is aweful. The kids are the ones to suffer as they try to get to college. Are we going to make those students unable to get a decent job.
