I know alot of people who think tattoos are trashy and stupid. I personally have five tattoos (a butterfly on my foot, moon and star on ankle, palm tree on ankle, goth sign on lower back, and chinese friendship symbol between shoulder blades) and I love them. I plan on getting more, too. I think that the trashiness of tattoos depends on what tattoos you get. I don't think that the "sleeves" of tattoos are very attractive, or any kind of full body tattoo. That is just taking it too far. But I don't see anything wrong with the tattoos that I have, I think they are sexy. People are always saying that I will get tired of them and want to remove them, but I really doubt that it will ever happen. All of mine are small and I can cover them up anytime that I want. I am very happy with them, and I will keep them forever. Tattoos: trashy or sexy?

I personally like tattoos. I don't have any at the moment, but I am planning to make one. I am still thinking about the model and the place. I also don't think that tattoos are trashy. This is a mith, because in the past the only people that had tattoos were the sailors, who were not so, let's say...classy people. But times have changed. In a few more years tattoos will be accepted by everyone, I'm sure of that.
One of the most talked about tv stars these days is Wentworth Miller from "Prison Break". One of the main reasons for his popularity was his character's massive tattoo covering his entire upper body. I sure never heard any females saying he looked trashy! He doesn't actually even have a tattoo but it sure got people buzzying about him especially the ladies!
I see tattoos as being art. I love art, i'm not very good at it lol, but i still love to look at it. Right now i'm trying to convince my hubby to let me get a salvador dali elephant on my lower back. He rather buy me the painting. I don't think they are trashy at all. Some tattoos could be done better, but it's how a person expresses them self.
I love tattoos and have two of them. I plan on getting quite a few more. I really don't think that as many people look at them as trashy now as they used to. They are becoming more and more mainstream. In fact, I was at a party recently and my friends 81 year old grandmother showed me a tattoo of an Celtic dragon that she had gotten for her 80th birthday!

I agree with the comment about Wentworth Miller... He is gorgeous, and his fake tattoos definitely make him SOOOO sexy! I think tattoos are sexy, and I'm glad that other people think so too.

I think half the fun of tattoos is that they're so socially sigmatized. I would like to get tattoo, but haven't yet found a picture that I like enough to look at every day.
I have 2 friends who got them in their 20's and swore up and down to me they would have them forever. They are now (~15 years later) both paying several thousand dollars to have them removed.
I have never liked the look of them myself... it's a personal thing. If people want to decorate themselves up, go nuts. I'll just avoid looking.
