So, the war that our government has gotten into is not our war. It is George W. Bush's War. Why should our loved ones have to sacrifice themselves for what the president started? Why can't the Bush family go to war themselves? Why is Bush not out there sacrificing himself for our country if he is such a powerful president? Doesn't that make you think? It made me think. Now I do not have any current members in the war but I feel deeply for those innocent soldiers who go into war because they are promised things that in the end are lies.Talk to me, Tell me what you think! I know that there are a lot of families out there that feel the same way. I keep seeing the news and wonder what these innocent soldiers did to be in this situation. Ladies and Gentle Men, It's reality! We are in a war that isn't fair! Our Government is the cause of this war and Why should we have to stay put and do nothing for all the innocent lives being lost? Our Govenment went into Iraq and tore it down, It had no right! Now, Iraq struggles with electricity, they never have 24hrs. of electricity. This is wrong! Iraq is not where our loved ones should be..... there should not be any WAR taking place. There should not be so many innocent people dying!!!

What I am wondering is why wars even had to start in the first place...

Why do soldiers go to war their governments start? Because it's their duty, whether they were lied to to get there or not, it is their duty. The only way to change it is to make the government bring them home.
Asking why the president isn't out there is just dumb. Have you ever heard of any president or leader since the 1500's leading his troops to battle? No, because they command the armed forces but the generals do the fighting. It's basic military procedure.
I find quite a few things about the Prez that's a little fishy, including this war and his inability to complete an entire sentence without saying something silly...
I don't agree with the war, but if I suggest for Pres. Bush to do the fighting himself it's only in a joking manner. Not even a great President would risk their own life that way.

I don't agree with the war in Iraq - but men and women know when they join the military - that they may be called to duty. It is just a shame that many people feel that they don't have another choice -

First of all - I agree with the basis of your post and I definitely agree with your opinion on the war, Bush, etc. But I think you should also understand some other things, namely:
1. Bush cannot go to war. Nor can his family. If the leader of the US was killed in action, it could be seriously devastating to the US and lead to civil unrest and more problems. What if on the other hand he or a member of his family was held hostage? Think of all the problems that would cause!
2. There is no draft in America right now. People do not have to sign up to the army. If they are, they do so with the knowledge that they will NOT have a choice about what war to fight in, and that it's quite possible that they will have to fight in a war they disagree with.
3. Of course there should not be war, but there is, and it would be ridiculous to just suddenly pull out all the US soldiers - that would lead to them being safe, yes, but it would lead to even more civil unrest in Iraq and surrounding countries, and lead to FAR more deaths.

I think all of you are right because you can't send Bush to war because he is the President and he could be in danger and so could his family, but I didn't mean it like that... I'm angry at the fact that he would send innocent people and he is not always going to be in office. We have an election comming up ppl Hello!!!
