Pizazz Trumps Pragmatism Thusfar...

In high school class president elections, Barack Obama was probably the charming, popular jock who promised to expand school lunch from meat loaf to filet mignon. Therefore, Hillary Clinton must have been the awkward yet confident bookworm who relied more on smarts than snazzy posters or campaign cupcakes.

The race to become the Democratic candidate in the next presidential election has become a high school-esque popularity contest, where pizazz seemingly trumps pragmatism.

Obama and Clinton generally share similar political ideals, with the line of division painted primarily by personal character. Addressing her unfavorable contrast of systematic practicality against Obama’s pathos-oriented charisma, Clinton has criticized his fanciful rhetoric as talk sans action.

Although some argue that Clinton has not had much experience actually running anything, her political experience technically dwarfs Obama’s. However, the undecorated approach she has taken may have contributed to her losing several recent primaries, sometimes with Obama claiming up to 75% of the vote.

Obama’s website has even been called more inviting and harmonious than Clinton’s. The younger and more vibrant Obama has a broad appeal with his hope-fueled campaign of "Change We Can Believe In", whose bright lights have either blinded voters, or provided the clear vision they were seeking.
