 What is up with this?

A friend of mine went to the DMV the other day. She went to renew her license. Infront of her in line was someone from Mexico. He haned the lady in the line a green card and told her that was all he had. So the lady behind the counter went through all the steps to get him his license. He went and got it. So now it was my friends turn to get hers. The lady told her she needed her birth certificate. So my friend went home and got it. She went back to the DMV and waited in line again. It was her turn so she handed the lady her birth certificate. The lady told her that she had to have one that was issued by the court house not the hospital. My friend told the lady that she was born in Florida and could not get one right away. She was issued a 30 license untill she could send off for a court house issued certificate. They now have a sign up that tells you how much it is to get a court ordered birth certificate. Now why is it that the ones who are born here go through so much to get something done. And the ones who are here on green cards and ones who are not even suposed to be here get everything they want? I just do not understand that. I know with this I am going to make alot of people mad. But you know what I really do not care. I have busted my butt for things and people come over here and get it handed to them. If we have to go theough so much to get something then they should too.

First of all, do you know the things people go through to get green cards? They spend YEARS trying to attain those things.
Now, Im sorry for what your friend had to go through at the DMV, but that isnt even the half of what my relatives had to do to get over here. On top of that, when they get here things are not "handed" to them. They have just as much trouble as the rest of us.
Some people from other countries do have it pretty easy, but so do a lot of people from here. I have never had any trouble at the DMV, I was born in Illinois.

But I think its wrong for you to say that people with green cards get things handed to them. Because getting to the United States is a struggle for so many people. You should be glad that you were born here, because despite what kinda crap the "DMV" may give you, youre living 10 times better than a lot of the world.

All should be on the same page. no matter where you are from. the green card is only an identification. they need the rest.

I don't know what happens in your state, but here they do get things handed to them. I have seen it. I went through this point in my life that I needed help with daycare and asked the state to help for a month till I got on my feet. All I asked for was ONE MONTH because my ex left me and our son I had to get a second job. They told me "at this point we cannot help you." Now the next day my friend who is Mexican went up for help and they gave her no problem and gave it to her. She felt so bad, we sat down and figured out how we could do this. So she watched my son at night so I could work. We have a lot of people here in Maryland that this happens to. I knew I would make people mad but someone has to say something about it.

Now Im not saying that no one gets things handed to them. Because some people with green cards do. But so do some people who were born here. You cant say that all people with green cards get things handed to them because the truth is, the majority of them dont.
Besides that You really have to think about what kind of trouble they went through to get those green cards. My uncle in Nigeria went through 3 years of trouble before he could get a green card, and even now, there's more paper work that has to be done to get him over here. I think that he deserves a little slack when he gets here, chances are he wont get it, but I hope he does.
I think that ur opinion is kind of selfish. You have to look at the bigger picture. The truth is, being born here puts us at an ultimate advantage.

People with Green Cards have every right to be here. A Green Card is a legal residency, they have as much right to a driver's license as we do.

if you would have read my blog RIGHT then you would have seen i was not saying they don't belong here. (And the ones who are here on green cards and ones who are not even suposed to be here get everything they want? ) those are my words READ them. the ones who are not suposed to be here are the ones who have not went for a green card. so if your gonna give a bad comment and get upset make sure you read it right before you do.

1) Chill out. Your blog is written in bold in one paragraph. I missed that the first time I read it too. Perhaps you should try putting it into two separate thoughts instead of lumping people with green cards into the same category as illegal immigrants.

2) Use the reply link at the bottom of a comment to respond to it. It makes the flow of conversation easier, since people know you are responding to the comment and not the blog. Thanks much.
