Younger victims confront horror of Alzheimer's

Tagged:  •    •

My Summary:
More and more younger people are being diagnosed with a dementia such as Alzheimer's. Alzheimer's Association in June 2006 say that an additional 590,000 people age 55 to 64 have a mild “early onset” impairment of memory. Today there are about five million cases of Alzheimer's. It is predicted that by 2050 there will be about 16 million people diagnosed. Alzheimer's is irreversible meaning that it cannot be cured. Many who get it at a younger age are forced to quite their job(s) and take an early retirement which can lead to no health insurance.

Try including some discussion on this other than simply posting your homework summaries.

I'm posting my articles as discussions as well--it's news that's happening or that has happend. I'm also posting personal topics (but none at the moment b/c I'm putting my articles up first). Thanks though :)
