Relationships-The Distance Factor

Whether it’s breaking up over distance or trying to keep together a long distance relationship, they both are excruciating to go through.Personally, I've gone through both types with the same person. He left in August for college, graduating a year early leaving for California, while I have just this year left and am on the complete opposite side of the country in New YorkHis idea was to break up and possibly get back together when he comes home in December. The idea of him forgetting about me, freaked me out. And just after a couple of weeks of not seeing each other, the dreaded words of, "I'm not going to be ready for a relationship," came out. After an entire month of trying to be on my best behavior, cause I used to send him angry emails or get into arguments over the phone, and a ton or persuasion, I finally got him! Without forcing him into a decision. Even though I said things that really changed his mind, I had to let him come up with that idea on his own or make it seem that way.If I really had to guess, I would have never believed I could change his mind over AIM or the phone. It was such a painful and time consuming task. But the point was to not give up for all the people that are in relationships even if their not long distance. It sounds really cliché, but it honestly is true.

I was just wanted to know if anyone else was going through a similar thing.

Um my boyfriend lives 2 hours away by train.. and we've been together for 5 months. I met him when he was by my visiting one of my friends.. and even though he lived so far we started dating.. sometimes we go a whole month without seeing eachother.. but we talk.. on the phone.. you have to learn patience. I learned patience and it really pays. If it's real love there's no persuading someone to be with you.. he won't forget you.. etc
