which of you senses would you lose?

My psych teacher asked the class that question, and i never thought about it on a deeper lever. i've just always thought "anything but hearing!" there's no way i could lose the joy hearing my violin or the theraputic sounds of loud music.


but there's a reason why a blind man wouldnt want his eyes for 10 minutes. everything you saw before can not be anything more than brilliant memories with fantastic colors and shapes. people do think visually, how would i ever comprehend something new if i couldnt imagine it?


the sense of smell. doesnt seem like much. you can adapt to bad smells anyway. smelling goes hand in hand with taste.... that explains why you cant seem to taste much when you are sick. attraction also is a friend of smell, if i lost it, would i ever be able to be attracted to other people again?


as a person who looooves eating. it's surprising i'm not much of a taster. .. hmm.


touch. this is one sense i'm afraid of losing. feeling gives limits. when to stop before you'd hurt yourself. i've seen a case with a little girl whose feeling perception was off and she played hide-and-seek and chose to hide in a freezer. good hiding spot right? when she was found she had to go to the hospital bc of her body temp.

i would choose taste then. bc the drawbacks arent obvious to me. do you know/see any?
