A couple of months ago, I wrote an article about how nervous I was to talk about my depression with my mom, and later my doctor. It was intended to give hope to those who are afraid to tell someone about their depression for fear of being labeled as "in a phase" or needing attention of any kind.
In the article, I mentioned that my physician prescribed me with a medication, and that I did not have to go to a psychiatrist to recieve treatment. Unfortunately, this is the only portion of the article that anyone chose to comment on, mostly saying that just being on medication is bad, and not enough to treat the disorder.
While I do appreciate the many reads and comments that I recieved, I wish that the true point of my article could have had more attention. I was trying to shatter the fear that others have about opening up to someone about their feelings, and I felt that the best way to help would be with my own testimonial.

I am glad that you reach out and try to help people in a way that most would not even think about. Being open and honest is so cathartic. Thank you.
On a side note, can you put a link in this blog to the blog your refering.

That's the original article.
Thanks for your comment. It is very cathartic.
How come we only ask ourselves the really big questions when something bad happens?
