LIES

Lies, you tell them, I tell them, it seems like the whole world tells them. But who is to decide when the lies have gone too far. People tell white lies to spare people's feelings, are these fair though even? I mean those lead people into a false sense of security. Or even bigger lies like the ones we have been told by the President.
Whatever happened to basic morals and doctrine. Honesty used to head these morals and beliefs, yet now it takes a backseat. Now we tell people what we think they want to hear regardless of the truth. Some people will even lie about the dumbest things leaving you baffled and confused. Lies are just becoming a popular way of communicating. Instead of just telling someone we wanted to do something else instead of go to their party we will come up with some outrageous excuse. Is this fair to anyone? We are left with a guilty feeling and the person is left wondering why? I mean I don't know I just don't get why lies are becoming a more and more popular part of society. You would think as we become more accepting we would allow people more freedoms and not have them feeling that they need to lie to feel safe.
Lying isn't something that should become a part of our society. I think honesty starts at home and should be definetly done by those in authority positions. Teachers, politicans and parents shouldn't lie if they can avoid it, they should try to encourage honesty. This is where people learn their basic morals and if people everyday are lying to them, then why wouldn't they feel lying is alright, or fine to do. I think that in ways we need to have a more moralistic society. I'm not saying that it should be tied to religion though. Just the basic doctrines of any person, they should have some morals, and honesty should be one of the main ones. No one has to be perfect just be nice to others and respect them, by being honest with them and not lying to their faces. That's not respectful. Our word is what makes us who we are. It shows our dignity and honor. Who are we, if our word is nothing but bull crap?

I think we're not becoming more accepting, though. We just think we are.

Not to mention, everyone has different ideas about what morals are, and how much honesty is good, and where to draw the line.

But you're right. Lying is a big problem, and it's going to get us into trouble very soon.

And I especially like your last three sentences. Well said.

Yeah, I don't know that we are becoming more accepting of lies. It seems though that people find it more acceptable to lie though. That it's better to do that.
Yeah, I guess that's a big part of it having different morals.
Thank you very much for the compliment
